THE PRE-CARE
RITUAL.
Before we make some brow magic, there's a little groundwork to cover. Your skin, your health, and your preparation all play a part in the experience.
Consider this your official getting-ready guide.
THE COUNTDOWN.
A few things to keep in mind before your appointment. Some treatments or medications may require an individual preparation plan.
Let's Talk Skin.
- Facial procedures: Tell me about recent or planned chemical peels, laser treatments, microneedling, facials, or cosmetic surgery.
- Botox and filler: Let me know about recent injections near your forehead or eyes.
- Retinoids and acne treatments: Disclose tretinoin, retinol, exfoliating acids, isotretinoin (Accutane), and prescription skincare.
- Previous brow tattoos: Existing microblading, powder brows, nano brows, or other eyebrow tattoos require photo review and approval before booking.
- Upcoming surgery: Discuss procedures that could change your brow position before scheduling.
Keep It Gentle.
- Avoid introducing new or irritating skincare products around your eyebrows.
- Avoid unnecessary exfoliation and aggressive facial treatments.
- Protect your skin from sunburn and tanning.
- Avoid brow waxing, threading, tinting, or lamination close to your appointment if it could irritate your skin.
- Contact me if you develop a rash, infection, breakout, or irritation around your brows.
- Leave your natural brow hair alone. Please don't shave or completely reshape your eyebrows before your appointment. Your natural hair growth helps guide your brow design.
A Few Things to Skip.
- Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine leading up to your appointment.
- Skip harsh exfoliation and irritating treatments around your eyebrows.
- Disclose medications or supplements that may affect bleeding, bruising, or healing.
- Never stop prescribed medications, blood thinners, or medically necessary aspirin without medical guidance.
- If you're feeling unwell, contact me before coming in.
DAY
It's Brow Day.
- Come with your brows done. Please arrive with your eyebrow makeup applied exactly how you normally wear it. Whether you prefer soft and natural or bold and defined, I want to see your everyday brow style.
- Bring your inspiration. Save a few photos of eyebrow shapes, hairstrokes, or styles you love. These help me understand your vision, but identical results cannot be guaranteed.
- Expect makeup removal. After we photograph your brows with your usual makeup, all makeup from the eyes upward will be removed, including eye and eyebrow makeup.
- We'll document your transformation. Photos and video may be captured throughout the appointment, including your everyday brows, natural brows, mapping, tattooing, and finished results.
- Eat a proper meal beforehand and stay hydrated.
- Bring valid government-issued photo ID. You must be 18 or older.
- Allow up to 4.5 hours for your appointment. Avoid scheduling anything immediately afterward.
- Wear something comfortable. Good brows aren't rushed.
- You're welcome to bring makeup to touch up unaffected areas afterward, but do not apply makeup directly to your freshly tattooed brows.
A LITTLE REMINDER.
Nano brows are a cosmetic tattoo, not a makeup filter. While we'll work together to create a shape and style that complements your features, perfect symmetry, identical hairstrokes, exact color, and pigment retention cannot be guaranteed. Your natural brow growth, facial structure, skin characteristics, healing, and aftercare all play a role in your final results.
THE FINAL CHECKLIST.
Before you head out the door...
A little preparation goes a long way.
BEFORE WE BEGIN.
A few things I need to know before we commit to your brows.
Age Requirements
You must be 18 or older with valid government-issued photo ID.
Pregnancy & Nursing
Please disclose pregnancy or nursing before booking. Treatment may need to be postponed.
Diabetes & Healing
Diabetes, circulation concerns, or poor wound healing may affect suitability. Medical guidance may be necessary.
Medical Conditions
Disclose autoimmune conditions, immune suppression, cancer treatment, epilepsy, or other relevant concerns.
Medications
Tell me about blood thinners, bleeding disorders, and medications that may affect healing. Do not stop prescribed medication without guidance from your clinician.
Skin Conditions
Active eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, infection, or broken skin near the brows may require postponement.
Allergies
Disclose known allergies to pigments, topical anesthetics, adhesives, latex, or related products.
Scarring & Previous PMU
Scar tissue, keloid history, previous brow tattoos, or unusual healing require discussion.
SOMETHING CHANGED?
I'd rather hear from you before your appointment than find out when you're already in my chair.
If you've started a new medication, recently had a cosmetic treatment, developed irritation around your brows, or aren't feeling well, please reach out before your appointment. We may need to review whether it's appropriate to proceed or reschedule.
If you're unsure whether nano brows are suitable for you, ask before booking. Some circumstances may require additional information or medical clearance.
Your safety comes first. Depending on your skin condition, medical history, or recent treatments, your appointment may need to be postponed, rescheduled, or declined.
WHAT TO EXPECT.
Here's how your appointment typically unfolds. We'll take our time, talk through your goals, and create a brow design tailored to you.
Consultation & Inspiration
We'll review your inspiration photos, discuss your brow goals, and look at how you normally style your eyebrows. Reference photos help communicate your preferences, but they aren't a guarantee of identical results.
Photos & Brow Mapping
First, we'll photograph your brows with your everyday makeup. Then all makeup from the eyes upward will be removed, and we'll take additional photos of your natural brows. I'll map a customized shape for your review and approval before tattooing begins.
Nano Hairstrokes
Using a tattoo machine, I'll create fine hairstrokes designed to complement your natural brows and the shape we've agreed on. The finished appearance and pigment retention will depend on your skin and individual healing process.
Final Photos & Aftercare
Once your brows are finished, we'll take your final photographs. We'll also review your aftercare instructions and healing expectations. A touch-up may be recommended after healing, typically around 6–8 weeks. Touch-up appointments are currently $85.
BEHIND THE BROWS.
The transformation deserves to be documented.
Photography and video are part of my nano brows appointment process. Throughout your appointment, I'll document different stages of your brow transformation, from your everyday makeup and natural brows to mapping, tattooing, and the finished results.
What I'll Capture
Photos and video may include close-ups of your brows, portions of your face, your consultation and mapping, parts of the tattooing process, and your completed nano brows.
Where It May Be Shared
With your separate permission, selected photos and videos may be used on the Wander + Lost Ink website, social media, portfolio, and other promotional or educational materials.
AND THEN COMES THE HEALING.
The fresh, the flaky, the confusing, and everything in between.
Your brows will change as they heal. This visual guide shows examples of how nano brows may look before the appointment, immediately after, and throughout the healing process.
AI-generated educational illustration, not actual client results. Healing stages, pigment color, and retention vary by individual.
WAIT... WHY DO MY BROWS LOOK ORANGE?
Don't panic if your fresh brows look warmer than expected. During early healing, some brows may appear reddish, coppery, or slightly orange.
Freshly tattooed skin, inflammation, pigment formulation, and natural skin undertones can influence the way color appears.
As the skin heals, that warmth may soften or change. However, not every warm tone will disappear on its own. That's why it's important to evaluate the healed color before deciding whether an adjustment is needed.
Certain medications and health conditions can affect healing, so please disclose relevant information before your appointment. Medication alone should not be assumed to be the cause of orange-looking pigment.
Give your brows time to heal before judging the final color. If you're concerned, send me a clear photo in natural light.
GOT SOMETHING BIG COMING UP?
Weddings, vacations, photoshoots, and fresh brow tattoos don't always make the best last-minute combination.
Your brows will go through visible changes as they heal. If you have an important event coming up, reach out before booking so we can discuss realistic healing time and whether your appointment date makes sense.
THE PREP IS ONLY HALF THE STORY.
Your brows need a little love after your appointment, too. Get familiar with the healing process and aftercare expectations before booking.
